The future of freight mobility in Texas is something we all have a role in shaping.
This week I joined fellow freight stakeholders at the UT Arlington Fort Worth Center to help inform the Texas Department of Transportation 2027 Texas Freight Mobility Plan update. This workshop provides an opportunity to review regional supply chain findings, refine freight needs, and contribute ideas on the policies, programs, and trends that will shape our transportation system.
From my perspective as President of the Texas Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (TSLRRA), it is essential that short line railroads and the communities we serve have a voice in these discussions. These connections help manufacturers, agricultural producers, and other businesses reach broader markets while supporting local jobs and investment.
I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to connect freight planning with economic development, making sure we consider both the needs of businesses operating today and the infrastructure that will support tomorrow’s growth.
Texas depends on railroads, highways, ports, and border gateways working together. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute and help move Texas freight forward.
If you haven’t registered for one of these sessions, I encourage you to get involved. Your perspective matters—help shape the future of freight in Texas.
