Texas Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (TSLRRA) was proud to be in Austin yesterday and today representing Texas’ short line and regional railroad industry.
Over the past two days, we had the opportunity to meet with staff members from several offices represented on the Texas Senate Transportation Committee, continuing important conversations about the role short line railroads play in supporting economic development, freight mobility, safety, and communities across Texas.
Today, TSLRRA was also pleased to attend the Senate Transportation Committee interim hearing and show our support for the $755 million in Grade Crossing Elimination funding recently announced by Texas Department of Transportation.
Investments in grade separations and crossing improvements are critical to improving safety, reducing congestion, strengthening freight mobility, and supporting the continued growth of Texas’ transportation network.
We appreciate the members and staff of the Senate Transportation Committee for their continued focus on transportation infrastructure and for the opportunity to ensure the voice of Texas short line railroads is part of the conversation.
TSLRRA remains committed to being the unified voice for Texas short line and regional railroad and to working alongside TxDOT, legislators, and our industry partners to keep Texas moving forward.
Tomorrow, we’ll attend the Texas Department of Transportation Commission meeting here in Austin, wrapping up a productive week of advocating for Texas short line railroads and highlighting the critical role they play as economic drivers across our state.
